What Our Students and Staff Say
Second in Charge English
I love the fact that I work in a diverse school with students and staff that come from a mixture of backgrounds and religions, allowing staff and students a chance to gain more knowledge and understanding of other cultures.
I am an English teacher and second in charge within the English department. This is my first year teaching at St Mark’s Academy. Previously, I was teaching at Coulsdon College and Croydon Adult Learning and Training.
There are many reasons why I feel St Mark’s is good for me.
Firstly, I feel the department that I work in and the school as a whole are very supportive and encouraging in allowing teachers to be the best that they can be and this in turn allows teachers to support students to be the best that they can be.
Overall, St Mark’s is a fantastic school to work at and I am very proud of the wonderful, diligent students that I teach.
Our students have teachers that care about their education and futures. The teachers at St Mark’s are willing to go above and beyond to ensure that our students achieve the very best possible outcomes. Students at St Mark’s are not only taught outstanding lessons but are also given enrichment opportunities, such as theatre trips, drama club, book club, poetry slams, spelling bees and many more. Teachers are always looking for new and innovative ways to ensure students enjoy every moment of their learning.
