Academy Priorities

The Academy Improvement Plan (AIP) lays out the key areas for development that have been identified by the Academy Senior Leadership Team for 2019/2020

Academy Priorities 2019/ 2020

To further improve the staff professional programme to ensure an exceptional quality of education is delivered for all key groups

Continue to uphold the culture of vigilance and strong safeguarding practices

To embed the  curriculum intent and implementation securely and consistently across the school

Pupils consistently achieve highly, particularly the most disadvantaged and SEND pupils and build sufficient knowledge and skills for future learning and destinations

To ensure that non-qualification activities including tutorials, work to develop study, leadership, teamwork, self-management skills and volunteering support an exceptional provision at sixth form.

The sixth form goes beyond the expected, so that learners have access to a wide, rich set of experiences that teach learners why it is important to contribute actively to society.

To enable all students to become confident, resilient and aspirational members of a global community. Making positive contributions to the wider community by developing their understanding of the fundamental St Mark’s values.

To ensure the perception of the Academy is a true reflection within the local community allowing pupil numbers to be realised and sustained in every year group.

To further improve pupil attendance, punctuality and access to personalised support particularly for pupils with additional needs.

To further develop a values-based climate for learning and student leadership opportunities leading to self-managing, high levels of self-control and consistently positive attitudes to their education underpinned by strong and inclusive Christian values.
