Year 9 and 10 Samba Workshop

Some Year 9 and 10 Music students were lucky enough to take part in a Samba workshop with The London School of Samba on Wednesday 29th November.

They were given an introduction to the different Samba instruments with musical demonstrations and then formed their own Samba band playing complicated drum rhythms. The sounds of Brazilian Samba could be heard resounding through the school. Well done to all those who took part.

Following the workshop, an Academy Samba band of 30 students will be formed and will rehearse over the course of the next few months with the London School of Samba culminating in a performance at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday 23rd April. All those who have been chosen for the Band will be receiving a letter in the post very soon! Please put the date in your diary. Tickets will be on sale soon and more details will follow.
