Valentine's Day Treats

Valentine's Day 2008 started with a show of love this year when a team of Year 8 girls, helped by some of the Sixth Formers, including our Head Girl, set up an excellent enterprise initiative. The focus for the week was on 'Friendship' and the team sent messages, cards, balloons and lollipops, for a modest cost, on behalf of anyone who wanted to send a special 'thank you for being there for me' type of greeting.

All the money raised is being donated to 'Tommy's' a charity helping premature babies. So far the group have raised nearly £100.00.

Everyone really appreciated the event and it certainly helped to spread some love and happiness around the Academy.

On Valentine's Day itself, a disco was held for Years 9 and 10 organised by a team of Year 10 girls. Everyone had a great time and there were some fantastic dance moves on display. But did anyone find love...?!
