St Mark’s Academy Achieves Government Sportsmark

St Mark’s Church of England Academy are delighted to announce that they have been awarded the Government Sportsmark Award 2007, in recognition of the high quality of Physical Education provision at the school.
The national Sportsmark Award is designed to recognise schools that are delivering high quality PE to all students, based on curriculum time and extra curricular enrichment activities.
As part of their physical education provision and as part of their commitment to the National School Sports Strategy, the Academy have developed a successful partnership with the local borough sports co-ordinator, Josh Barnet, who works closely with the students on a regular basis
Principal, Mrs Louise Ceska said: ‘We are thrilled to receive this award which reflects our commitment to excellent Physical Education provision for all and ‘being healthy’ in the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda. Students are able to benefit from the highest quality curriculum time as well as a broad range of sporting activities, including dance, during lunchtimes and in after-school clubs. Congratulations to everyone involved in achieving this award.’
