Speak Out Challenge 2008

For the second year running, several students from Year 10 spent the day together learning the finer points of public speaking. After preparing their talks, they braved a panel of distinguished judges (Mr Tunstall, Mr Smith and Mrs Bull – in true X-Factor style) as well as the gaze of their fellow students as they delivered their words of wisdom!

Congratulations are due to Shenice Coote who gained first place for her passionate speech about Christianity. In second and third places were Mikayla Gregory and Josh Brain who both gave engaging speeches about their chosen subjects. By unanimous decision, the most improved speaker of the day was Jasveer Jagdev who enlightened us all about his pet animals.

Everyone found the day worthwhile, several students feeding back how they had enjoyed it and how their confidence had improved as a result.
