“The Oxford seminar has helped me to understand what it is like and what it takes to get into one of the top universities. I learned that university is not cheap but you can get help from the government or a scholarship. There are a range of courses that are offered, but if you don’t find the one for you it’s okay. You can also live on campus if you want to be closer to your classes but it’s not necessary. You don’t have to be a genius or someone with the best grades, all you need is to have the passion for something you enjoy.”
“On Friday, We attended a seminar about going to university. The seminar was about informing us on about university and attending Oxford. I had some previous knowledge on university before the seminar and this knowledge was greatly expanded by attending. The day was ultimately successful as it was well presented and gave us a clear target on what to achieve to attend one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
Last Friday I was given the opportunity to bring 10 students up to the Chaucer Centre for a special seminar held by Oxford University. The seminar informed our young people about university life and what it means to be involved in higher education. They were alongside other students from schools in the borough, where they did us proud.
