St. Mark’s had a wonderful time hosting 48 Chinese students and their teachers before the half term break. It was magical to see that language had no barriers when it comes to making friends. Our student ambassadors gave the visitors a tour of the Academy and welcomed them into the School community with hope, love and trust. New year gifts were shared, and students exchanged details so that they could keep in touch with their new friends. They were clearly impressed with the Academy and many said they wanted to come back and visit for longer. Maya one of our year 7 students said; “It was the best experience. Everyone was so kind, friendly and happy to meet us. I can’t believe they bought us these lovely gifts – it was a great morning and I hope we can do it again.” Our year 10 students were taught a short Chinese phrase wishing people a happy new year that was then filmed and sent home to the other students from the school in China. St. Mark’s is excited to be continuing to develop these international links which will hopefully enable some of our own staff and students to travel there to experience what school is like in China.
Keep checking back to keep updated with the latest news from the academy.
