St. Mark’s hosted another successful event with our Primary schools from the East Mitcham Cluster. ‘Chess in Schools’ helped to coordinate the fantastic event, which saw many of our feeder primaries bring up to 10 of their best chess players to participate in the competition. The standard of play was exceptionally high, and the year 9 student ambassadors from St. Mark’s were incredibly impressed with the skill of the young players. William Morris Primary won the overall prize for the most number of points awarded on the day – but everyone did fantastically well and should be very proud of their achievements. Every competitor was a good sport, and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who was there. St. Mark’s will look forward to hosting the event again next year.
