Welcome to the website of St Mark’s Church of England Academy

The aims of the Academy are to raise the achievement and life chances of our students and to serve our community by providing access to a range of activities and opportunities. We are committed to creating an outstanding learning environment for your child and for the community.

St Mark’s is an 11-18 mixed Academy in Mitcham, Surrey, situated in extensive grounds in a pleasant green field location in the London Borough of Merton. The Academy’s specialism in Science, Enterprise and Technology means that we have the resources and expertise to encourage students to develop confidence, understanding and skills in these areas.

As a Church of England Academy we encourage development of the moral and spiritual well-being of our students as much as academic success. We support unity between different religions, culture, and beliefs. We welcome all families who feel they would benefit from, and be able to contribute to, the life and work of the Academy. This will enhance the ethos of the Academy which is inclusive of all faiths, as well as none, while embracing Christian tradition and beliefs.

The Academy is sponsored by a partnership of the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education, the charities Toc H and CfBT Education Trust, supported by the Department for Education and Skills. This spirit of partnership will be reflected in every aspect of our approach which is one that recognises that what we build together is stronger because it represents the hopes and determination of us all.

The Academy is extremely positive and excited about the future. The next five years will be an inspiring and formative time for all students at the Academy. At St Mark’s we will work in partnership with students and their family to make it a happy and secure time too.
