PSHE

At St Mark’s, personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education is a programme taught at key stage three. During lessons, pupils engage in active decision making and explore their views on a range of current moral and ethical issues. PSHE instills into pupils the skills they need to manage risk and make sensible life choices and promotes a positive physical and mental health, emotional wellbeing and social and economic wellbeing. Our carefully planned curriculum includes regular sessions and workshops from outside speakers and organisations. As a result, PSHE supports pupils in making effective transitions, teaches them about the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and allows they to explore career choices.

The relationship between PSHE education provision and our Christian values at St Mark’s is closely linked as PSHE encourages tolerance and respect between all members of our school community.
