History
Our aim within history lessons St Mark’s is to evoke inquisitiveness and imagination in our students by inspiring them with the beliefs, traditions and behaviours of people in the past. It encourages a common interest and understanding of the historic origins of our ethnic and cultural diversity. It is central to allowing pupils to develop their own identities through an understanding of history at personal, local, national, international and global levels. It allows pupils to develop an enquiring mind by encouraging them to ask and answer questions about present by engaging with the past.
Within KS3 history students will gain an insight into the history of their local area…
A GCSE history qualification demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to take part in an ever changing society and is held in high regard by employers.
