WHAT WE OFFER

Stm6 offers its students a purpose built study and social area and there will continue to be an extensive range of cultural, social and sporting activities for those looking for extra curricular attractions!

As a Stm6 former – you must remember that the younger students will be looking up to you ~ You have the opportunity to mentor and buddy up with younger pupils at the Academy and ensure their Academy experience is as easy as it can be.

You will also be given the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh Award’s Scheme – a nationally recognised award scheme that provides fantastic challenging and enjoyable opportunities for personal and social development through a range of different activities.  The scheme is tailored to each individual’s taste and interests and will include:

  • Service – helping people in the community
  • Skills – covering almost any hobby, skill or interest
  • Physical Recreation – sport, dance and fitness
  • Expeditions – training for, planning and completing a journey on foot or horseback, by boat or cycle

The Academy is keen to ensure that you are fully equipped to be ready for all aspects of adult life. You have a responsibility to your fellow students and the local community to act as role models and ambassadors for the Academy.

You will be expected to help with Academy events and tours with parents, the public and any VIP visitors that the Academy may have. You will play an active role in the Student Voice and will have the opportunity to be elected Head Boy or Head Girl.

We know how important it is to be prepared for the world ahead so will help in every way, offering guidance on how to produce the best CV and offering courses and experiences, such as critical thinking, languages and ICT that can help expand your CV.
